Time For Prints or Time For CD shoots can be a useful way for
photographers and models to gain
experience and expand their portfolios: no money changes hands, but in
exchange for their efforts, the photographer and model get joint,
limited rights to the images.
- Both the model and the photographer can use the images in their
portfolios and for general career promotion.
- Neither the model nor the photographer can sell the images on the
mass, commercial market (magazines, calendars, pay web sites,
etc).
Unemancipated minors need a parent to agree to these terms, and to attend the shoot.
TFP/CD shoots can be a useful way for novice participants to gain
experience or for experienced participants to expand into new
genres. In addition, some people see them as a way to promote art
rather than commerce (though most everybody has to earn a living).
- I generally deliver about 50 retouched, digital files from
a
3-hour shoot, plus variants (e.g., black & white or toned). The
images are sized for web use but full-sized images are also available.
- Typically, the models with whom I've worked have prefered
digital images but some have also selected two or three
images for agency submission, for which I provided 10"x12"
prints.
- I generally provide quick preview images with a day or two of the
shoot (and often on the same day as the shoot). Final edits follow one
or two weeks later.
I prefer this way of working as it's easier to be objective about the
images after some time has passed.
The images in this gallery are from some TFP/CD
shoots that I've done. Please contact me (email info
